Listening to radio, is the best way to refresh oneself with some great songs. In this process you will definitely listen some fantastic songs, which you have never heard before and may turn up loving them the most (Trust me, I really found some cool songs in this way). As number of people using internet is rapidly increasing, there is a new trend coming up of online radio.

I have done quite a bit of research and found out some of the coolest Hindi radio stations in the whole world. Some cool hindi radio stations are also in Dubai and Paris. You can not only listen to the latest songs, as there are some radio stations, completely dedicated to old songs too.

Music Freak!

Luck is an upcoming action thriller with a starry male line-up, and is Shruti Haasan's debut movie. Directed by the debutant Soham Shah, this movie stars Sanjay Dutt and Mithun Chakraborty in pivotal roles. I have read that Sanjay Dutt plays a don in his bearded appearance while the movie has some thrilling shots, such as Imran Khan jumping off a plane and landing on a moving train, on the other hand Sanju Baba running towards a fast moving train. Hope this turns out to be an entertaining thriller when released on 31 July.

The songs are tuned by the merchant brohters Salim-Sulaiman, and are really good. I personally like the soft listening Khudaya Ve, while 'Jee Lee' is cool. There is something for Sukhvinder fans also. Hope you like the songs, Cheers!!

Here is Pritam's next album after New York, and it appears to be a treat for all hindi music lovers. It's music is officially to be released tomorrow (25 June) three days after (on 27 June), but it's here (leaked), for you all. I have only listened 'Twist' which is a rocking track, and there is something for Rahat Fateh Ali's fans also. Hope you Like the songs. Cheers!!
Love Aaj Kal is a forthcoming Hindi movie, starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles along with Rahul Khanna and Rishi Kapoor in supporting roles. This film directed by Imtiaz Ali is to be released on 31 July. Wikipedia says that it is a hindi remake of Taiwanese film Three Times, but who cares, we should just hope it turns to be awesome.

Update: Thanks to Santosh for informing about the release date. I was happy with 1 day, now much more happier ;p. Another update, loved the songs on listening them :D

Update (4 August 09) : I watched Love Aaj Kal yesterday. I would not tell that it's better than Imitaiz Ali's 2nd movie Jab We Met, but it's quite cool compared to other movies that have bombarded us this year. I really was disappointed by Deepika's acting as appeared artificial at sometimes. It's natural that our opinions might be different, so feel free to tell yours through the comments. Btw, I am looking forward for Kaminey which is to be released on 14th. Hope you like it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the wait is over, We are the first to hear the songs of one of the biggest films of 2009, Kambakkht Ishq. Or say biggest songs, I have read that Rupees 1.5 Crores!! have been spent on a song 'Om Mangalam' from RDB (oh no! Not R D Burman, but a Bhangra Pop group from Briton) (read more). For two months I had been looking for them, to be the first and here I am immensely happy on achieving that. This movie is directed by Sabbir Khan and stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in main roles with Aftab Shivdasani and Amrita Arora in supporting roles. Hope this movie to be released on July 3 turns to be great, and not like Chandni Chowk to China.
I have been in so much hurry to publish them that could not hear them, am hearing Crorepati song 'Om Mangalam', really rocking! Music is directed by Anu Malik except the two songs from RDB with lyrics from Sabbir Khan. Hope you like them, Cheers!!

It's starring Adhyayan Suman, Shahana Goswami, Anjana Sukhani and Humayun Saeed (heard of them before??). I heard some of the songs, which seemed good. Btw, the songs are composed by Toshi and Sharib with lyrics from Kumaar. I hope you have a nice time listening them.P. S. The most popular Hindi radio station is here. 'Frequence India' earlier know as 'Radio Nimbooda' has the largest number of listeners and is Paris based. This is one of the first Hindi Radio stations to be streamed from Paris. Just like the radio Teen Taal this also plays mostly latest songs but has a better collection which is really refreshing. This is one of my favorites (may be after city 101.6 FM)... Hope you like it too! Enjoy!

Singh is Kinng a blockbuster movie released last year, is directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif (do I need to tell this,). It's just another slapstick comedy movie where one doesn't even need thinking caps:). I watched it and also enjoyed it because of the some non-sense instances and ofcourse the hot Katrina :p
The music is composed by Pritam who has earlier composed some great tunes in Gangster and Race in the past. The songs like 'Jee Karda' and 'title track from RDB' were flying at the top of the charts and are really good. Though I like Teri Ore from Shreya Ghosal the most. Hope you like them too!

Here is one of the the coolest radio station with alot of cool RJs. Though it was a pain in the neck to find it, I am fascinated that I found this lovely radio station with lots of awesome RJs. I have been listening to it since a past few months and you know what, it's fantastic. It gets streamed from Dubai, and is really worth listening to as it mainly broadcasts great hindi songs. Here you can request songs through mails, telephone and sms too and cool buddies out there may even read your whole mail live on radio. There are a lot of internationals listeners of this fascinating station, you would need a very good luck to be picked up. As it's a real radio station you would get a very brief (1 minute) news segments of what's going in around the world and a lots of local reference but who cares:). An anonymous visitor requested songs of New York three hours ago, so here it is. I hope he gets this. New York is a forthcoming film about 9/11 (September 11 attack) from the perspective of international students and is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra. It stars John Abraham (as Sam, do you remember something, yeah Dostana), Neil Mukesh, Katrina Kaif and Irrfan Khan. It is to be released on June 26. I hope this turns to be a great movie, it has been quite a while I watched a good movie.

Songs are composed by Pritam who has composed good songs in the past. I really have a presumption that they are great, have not heard them. Hope my assumptions turns to be true. Anyways would love to hear from you, How are the songs???

Music Freak!

This is one of the best radio stations of Europe, broadcasted to the whole world from Paris. It mostly plays latest bollywood songs which is cool, and the quality is awesome. This radio station is never down, and you may fallback to it whenever you find others are not working. To my experience this station lacks when it comes to old songs but for new hit songs it's perfect. There is a plus point that this station broadcasts the same song at two different speeds, which is helpful!. For superior qulaity you may choose 128 kbps, but hey 64 kbps is preety good too! At the time of writing it's playing the one of the best songs of 2008, 'Kabhi Kabhi Aditi'. Hope you have a lovely refreshing time with this radio station.

I have written this as a help to the problems that can come while playing online radio, hope this helps!

1 - Internet Explorer Users:
Internet Explorer 7 or 8 is so great, that it does not even trust 'Windows Media Player' built by same company to display in the inbuilt browser. It gives a small cute bar (LOL) at the top that "The webpage wants to use 'Windows Media Player' built by 'Microsoft Corporation' to display all its content, allow it or block it". Great, joke of the day:). Click that bar and choose 'Allow blocked content.' and it's done. And luckily from the next time you probably wouldn't need to do that. And Enjoy!

2 - Firefox or Opera Fanboys :
Firefox lovers you may need to do a litle bit of work just one time, it's just because Firefox is created by Mozilla and not Microsoft, the 'Windows Media Player' which is used in playing this radio is not properly connected to Firefox. But Hey, Firefox is one of the best browsers, and there should be a way out of that, and guess what - there is:

How to make the radio work (geeks could skip a few lines :p)

1. Just download this small plug-in (0.3 MB). (read more at official site)
   
2. Close firefox.
3. Click "wmpfirefoxplugin" (the file you downloaded).
4. Click 'Next' button.
5. Another window will open click on 'I accept the terms in the Licence Agreement' in the left bottom and then click 'Next'.
6. Then click 'Install' in the new window. Wait few seconds and click 'Finish'.

Seems like you learned the basics of installation. Cheers;) Open firefox, and yeah come on open our blog "www.hindisongss.blogspot.com". Click 'Online Radio' in the top and choose a radio station. And enjoy!

3 - Which all station can I listen to??

Based on you net speed you can find the stations that you can listen to. Here are some type of Internet connections that users generally have :-

• Dial Up - 56 kbps max (actaully 7 KBps max:) - you can listen to stations in the dial up section at the top, while you may give 64 kbps stations a try. I hope that they stream fine (don't stop after each second).
• CDMA - 150 kbps max (actually 18 KBps max :) - you can try all the stations, but if you have problems in 128 kbps stations, enjoy the 64 kbps streams. They are also good.
• Boradband - (256 kpbs - 100 mbps) - well the world is yours:)

Note : If you lie in between somewhere or don't know which type of connection you have. You should start with a 128 kbps station a try and if they play continuously Jackpot!, but if you hear broken songs, it's time to try 64 kbps station and if still not getting continuous play, then dial-up section is for you buddy.

4 - My Connection is of 2 mbps and I dont even reach 0.3 MBps. Why??
Well this might be unrelated to radio, but quite alot of my freinds have asked this, so this is for them. When I was a small kid, I called my ISP (BSNL, Airtel or Tata Indicom for peolple of India), that sir you tell 256 kbps and I never get above 30 KBps, why you don't give what is promised? The gentleman replied the sentence that was printed on the manual of my net connection, 'The average speed varies between 100 kbps to 180 kbps according to the time.", "Thank you for you great answer", I dropped the line!!

The confusion prevailed and was finally wiped out when I first encountered online radio. Here is the golden answer "1 Byte is equal to 8 bits." . You might have noted that I have used small caps 'mb' and large caps 'MB' in the heading. And all that we see is in Bytes or KiloBytes (KB) or Megabytes (MB). But intelligent ISPs (Internet Service ProviderS) use for their advertising purposes bits, kilobits (kb) or megabits (mb). Hope it becomes clear with the following :-

KiloBytes per second - KBps (what we see)
kilobits per second - (what ISP's actually boast, 8 times less than a KBps, fools the customers)
MegaBytes per second - MBps
megabits per second - mbps (8 times less than a MBps, 1 mbps is equivalent to 128 KBps).

Now songs what my blog's all about, you see 128 kbps, you might now already know at which speed it is actually transferred 16 KBps (128/8 = 16, thank God! I studied Mathematics:)

Ladies and Gentlemen, here is something, 60 years old and yet enticing. Barsaat is a classic movie that not only gave the greatest singer ever Lata Mangeshkar the launching pad but also launched two of best musicians Shankar-Jaikishan. Thanks to Manoj for requesting such a great album and adding it to my favorites list. The truth is that I didn't even know the name of this movie before;).The film directed by Raj Kapoor revolves around two love stories of Pran (Raj Kapoor) and Reshma (the most beautiful Nargis) and another one of Gopal (Prem Nath) and Neela (Nimmi). I recommend you all to watch out this movie, it's great. The evergreen songs are composed by R. D. Burman with lyrics from Gulzar. I like Aarti Mukherjee's song, and in the Nightingale's voice 'Tujshe Naraz', while 'Lakdi Ki Kathi' is famous amongst children for it's charming melody.

The songs are good and Anu Malik got his 2nd Filmfare award for this movie after the one for Baazigar in 1993.

Kal Ho Naa Ho features Jaya Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan. The film is directed by first-timer Nikhil Advani, while is produced and co-written by special Karan Johar. The award winning music is composed by trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. If you have not got a chance to hear it, check it out. Not only it's songs is great, the movie is also good, it gets shown from 7 Filmfare Awards that it won.

I haven't seen this film, so no word from me. But the soundtracks composed by A. R. Rahman are awesome, with beautiful lyrics from Gulzar. The title track from Sonu Nigam made me his fan.
